ian

5 great courses, 5 architects, one city?

One of my most enjoyable golf trips I ever made was to Columbus. I visited 5 clubs in 3 days, and when I look back; what a wonderful and diverse group they were.

Dye, The Golf Club
Ross, Scioto
Nicklaus, Muirfield Village
Mackenzie, Ohio State
Weiscopf and Morrish, Double Eagle

Is there a better set of 5 in another city?

Gene, your forgot 2 others within half hour drive, traffic adjusted, Maidstone and Friar's Head, not to mention Westhampton and Atlantic. But most already know, as golf goes Long Island rules! Also forgetting East Hampton and The Bridge.

Maidstone is in East Hampton - 15 minute drive from Southampton. SH has "only" the three I mentioned and will have another at Bayberry Land next to NGLA. Incredibly, all courses do and will border one another.

Yes, LI does rule as far as high quality golf is concerned. I emailed a list of courses to play to Ian but there are literally a dozen or so others he'd enjoy as well.

One of my golf mags, I believe it was GD, just ran a feature on public courses located in Long Island.
