Being caught in the interstices of geography my family will today be simultaneously celebrating Thanksgiving and St. Andrews Day. The focus of this celebration will be a feast featuring Roast Turkey with Neaps and Tatties, accompanied by a cheeky red from Bonny Doon, followed by pudding (Apple Pie and Clootie Dumpling) washed down by an unassuming Macallan.
We shall celebrate all that is great about the two countries and politely avoid such controversial issues as Cart Golf and the front nine of the Old Course.
