Update on Common Ground? (Doak in Colorado)
« on: October 28, 2008, 03:22:10 PM »
Does anyone have an update on this course?  How far along are they?  When will it come on-line?  Is it a muni?  How much will rounds be?  What are some of the holes going to look like?

Mike, there was a recent thread on this topic, complete with an article about the work:

If you go out to the Colorado Golf Association website, there's a good number of construction photos as well.

Looking forward to giving it a go !

I was designed in a "Chicago-style", so think Garden City simplicity meets Shoreacres. Opens Memorial Weekend, and I believe will take the top of Denver's public golf soon after. The green complexes have such different personalities - punchbowl, crowned, giant greens, big internal contours, small ones that look just off original grade. The bunkers have big grass lips and shallow sand bottoms. My favorite stretch while building the course was 7, 8, 9.

Zarlengo, if you're out there...
