Pasture golf: Augusta Wind
« on: July 16, 2008, 12:45:20 PM »
There's a 9-holer along Highway 83 just south of Stapleton, Nebraska, named Augusta Wind. (My now-favorite name for a golf course.) I'm always in too much of a hurry to stop, but has anyone here seen it? It's in the heart of the Sand Hills. Rudimentary course on sandy soil -- it would interesting to see how the ball bounces and rolls.

Great name!

I suspect that the club ladies champion is Amanda Hugginkiss?

The biggest gambler?  Althea Andraisa.

The super is Lon Moore?

The irrigation repair specialist is probably named "Lee King."

Looks like a little country nine holer with a typically undersized irrigation system.

Looks intriguing to me, if you ever stop Larry let us know how it looks.  I am always up for place like this.

I'm having difficulty finding it in Tony's aerial? Any clues other than just so. along 83?

Try this one Adam.

Looks like there are a lot of natural bumps and mounds in the fairways.
