I wrote him an email yesterday telling him how many people he has touched in his life. He is as someone says, a class act.
I thought about a part 2 interview since he is a walking history book. We asked a question, Discuss the history of administration at the USGA? This is really book material and he discussed how MacDonald helped shape the USGA, the fight between the USGA and the Western Golf Association and then he began the most amazing discussion of Joe Dey who when he took over in 1937 was the only employee and the first paid employee of the USGA. Off the top of his head he discusses the meetings in NYC at the Link Club and on and on.
