JB -
I don't have enough exposure to give a full comparison of all courses, but among those I played, Little Bennett is > Worthington Manor by far. I appreciated Laurel Hill, but on a heart vs head test, Little Bennett is much more fun (but Laurel was > Worthington, IMO). I think Andy mentioned that LB is in the Ballyhack neighborhood for quirk, which gave me some faith in heading there. In terms of value, LB is in a league of its own (I think I payed ~$40, which included breakfast and lunch & a bucket of balls). Our esteemed George Cup Champ, Tommy Williamsen also put LB in the fun camp - so I think you can't go wrong there.
While I haven't been to PB Dye, both Andy Hughes and JNC Lyon approved of those over Little Bennett, so that means something to me. I trust JNC's judgment as a whole, and Andy is a huge fan of Ballyhack, and I trust his insight as well. I think you'd be well served with that selection as well.
If you're looking for people to play with, definitely send PMs to the Andys (Shulman / Hughes) and always keep Chris DeNigris in mind. He traveled down from Harrisburg to join up with me, and is always game to travel for a decent round of golf & socializing.
Don't know much else about the offerings in range of DC, but Royal New Kent is also worth seeing if you're going to drive a little. While not Strantz's best, it is worth seeing.
