Golspie GC Photo Gallery
« on: February 19, 2008, 11:50:31 PM »
Golspie GC has recently updated its website and has a nice photo gallery with 15 pictures of the course. Golspie is a James Braid course 10 miles north of Dornoch.

Maybe Golspie is in line for a €50 million makeover, Ed?....

You should get your nice 3 storey Grecian clubhouse then.  ::)  ;)

Thank goodness there are still some clubs left that do not conform to the commercial business model of this day and age.

A nice roof would do - where are the EU regeneration people when you need them. The 60's were not just bad for golf course architecture.

The clubhouse facilities really never bother me - it's the golf course that counts (and Golspie looks lovely). This building is particularly hideous though, especially given its setting.

what, you don't like the perfect straight lines and symmetry tieing in to the horizon and sky beyond?...

I think that I had Ms. Stewart for second grade in that building...

Thanks for the link, David

Rich

PS--I haven't been to Golspie in several years, but that clubhouse extension is definitely an improvement!

While the visage of the Golspie clubhouse is less than attractive from the outside, the views looking out from the clubhouse while sitting inside having a pint or a wee dram or a bacon roll are first rate.

At a lot of out & back links courses, all you really get to see while sitting in the clubhouse is the 1st tee and the 18th green. That is certainly the case at Royal Dornoch, Tain and Brora. At Golspie,  you can see a good number of the golf holes, as well as the firth and the village. It is MUCH more attractive on the inside looking out than on the outside looking in!

Thanks, David, for looking out at the wonderful positives of your second home.

What a bountiful collection of golf courses you have up there in the northern latitudes.
