That is where my parents and ole Ken Langone live.  Redstick, Windsor and Quail Valley are nice.  My parents are members at Vero Beach CC which is fun to play and my dad and his friends enjoy the public Pointe West.

I have heard Redstick is good, and a friend of mine who is an excellent player likes Dodger Pines

From what I can recall I have only played Pointe West and VBCC.  Redstick is walking only which I have always found strange given the demographic of Vero Beach.

just got back from a week down there....nothing really special...Riomar is on the ocean..a bit short, but a good little members course where obviously the wind is always a factor....Orchid Island, Redstick,Quail Valley are all solid....best greens down there are at Hawks Nest...I never got really enthused with any of the Johns Island courses...just not my cup

I think Pointe West is trying to go private...good luck being so far up Rt 60

I believe a Lake Wales course has a reciprocal with Riomar......

Oops, I forgot that my parents used to be members of Hawks Nest so I did play there and some other fancy place with pink buildings all around.  
Maybe tomorrow in church I will try to focus and remember everywhere I have played in Vero.  I do feel sorry for those of you who keep a list.

JK...what the hell else is there to do for a 35 yr old in Vero Beach to do....golf, drink and sleep!  Jeez....I was bored as hell last week for holiday with the parents

All of the courses mentioned are solid, though John's Island West is clearly the best course in Vero Beach.  

There are two courses I would add:  Bent Pine, a very nice Joe Lee course at a low key club that is adjacent to Hawk's Nest and from the public end Sandridge, a 36 hole facility that is also on the "Sand Ridge" that Hawk's Nest, JIW, and Bent Pine are on.

I second the comment about the greens at Hawk's Nest being in wonderful condition, at least that was true when I played two rounds there in 2001.

Mike - Don't miss coming to The Moorings !  I'm in the t/book, and Dye put something together on the barrier island that is beyond approch, I think - though I miss a lot of my approaches.  

You pay though, and it ain't cheap !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the information. Disney has a resort down in Vero and I am trying to convince my wife that we do not need to have breakfast every morning with Mickey.

It is an outstanding resort.  Your wife would be very impressed with the running and biking paths all along A1A.  One of the highlights of a younger and skinnier life was when my wife and I lugged our bikes on the top of our car all the way to Florida and spent a week biking, sunning and at Vero Disney.

I'm pretty sure that the character breakfasts are only once or twice a week.  It's a great resort, with lots of daily activities to keep the kids busy.

I believe the Disney Resort is a time-share deal...but I know you can eat in the restaurant....it is basically across the street from Orchid Island....north of Johns Island....Moorings is very south of there...

Mike, I played Windsor and thought it was great for a Florida course, Hawks Nest and Indian River are great, Sand Ridge is great for a public track. Nothing special about Grand Harbor (36 H, although the Dye course is fun) or Orchid Is.
