That greensite is all natural.  The top of the dome was just slightly knocked down a bit.  If the golfer is smart an up and down from just off the front of the green should not be to difficult.

Another view of the "zit" with John K on the left as seen from the 3rd hole blue/green tee area.  A seasonal contrast with my June photos.  Compared to June this green was showing some wear at the walk off point to the right of the bunker.  Traffic alone may mandate an expansion.  The championship tees for #3 are seen in the background.

Does it appear from this photo the the "line up angle" is more from the short drive area? Right thru the bush mentioned earlier.

That looks like what I'm told the 6th green at Greg Norman's much-maligned pre-softening Great White at Doral was like.  What makes that green gawd-awful while this green is terrifyingly fun?

Brendan,

Thanks for clarifying this.  There didn't appear to be any land forms surrounding the green complex to give the indication it was "all natural."  It looks like the sides were dug down or the pad was built up.

As I stated, I have no problem with this green but it is shocking to come over the hill for the first time and see it!
