a trip to continental europe
« on: October 31, 2007, 07:41:09 AM »
if you were to take a group anywhere in europe for 3 rounds of golf, where would you take them if you wanted to pick 3 courses that were close together, had good architectural merit and a good hotel on-site or in a nearby town?

we did pas de calais in france with hardelot (tom simpson) and le touquet (colt) 2 years ago...

...any other suggestions?

thanks

Holland! There have been several threads (with photos) here of a number of the Dutch courses (that look darn attractive!) over the last few years. Kennemer & Royal Hague are 2 courses that immediately come to mind.

Travel & Leisure Golf magazine in the U.S. ran a nice article on touring the Dutch golf courses a couple of years ago. It was written by fellow GCA-er Tom Dunne.

David is right - recent experience confirms that the three premier Dutch links courses - Noordwijk, Kennemer and Royal Hague - are a fabulous collection, and within 30 min of each other. I would look no further (I will over the next week or two post pictures on all three courses so you can make your own mind up!)

Pictures of the 3 courses Philip mentions (and many other Dutch courses) can be found at:
