Rockrimmon RTJ sr. in ct.
« on: August 14, 2007, 08:15:08 PM »
This course  races and tumbles over some hilly/ dramatic land near Stamford.  the greens (c.1950) seem to be bold, in their shaping/ contours. Has anyone tackled  this early  work of Trent Jones sr. ?  if so, how does it compare with nearby Tamarack (Banks) or  Paterson

thanks

Mark,

I have had a bunch of opportunities but have never played it. I bike around it many weekends, so I know it from the road. It is in Augusta like condition and Grandma tells me the food is awesome.

Looks like it needs some tree work, but is probably one of RTJ's better parkland courses with a very low profile club.

Just as a point of reference, it is also in Westchester.

If I'm not mistaken, I seem to recall hearing a story that the one way driveway is oriented such that you enter into the club on the CT side and leave on the NY side. Has to be the only one of its kind.
