What is the surface or grass type on the Nelson and Hogan Bridges at Augusta?  On holes 12 and 13.

I'm pretty sure it is the fine Georgia Mills indoor/outdoor cultivar. ;) ;D
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

How easy would it be to grow real grass on those bridges?  Or maybe transplant real grass there for the tournament (leaving the fake stuff the rest of the year when members are driving their golf carts over it)

I always thought it looked stupid putting fake grass on those, rather than leaving a natural stone path.  Either put real grass on them or don't, but don't use that ugly artificial turf my grandparents had on their concrete front porch :P
My hovercraft is full of eels.

I totally agree.  The astroturf or whatever it is on there looks pretty bad.  I think stone would look best.  That's what the Sarazen bridge is.  Maybe because that is flat and the others are fairly steep angles they need something for traction.  Anything but astroturf, that looks completely out of place.

The bridge needs "second cut" astroturf.  Looks like they failed to update it from "fairway" astroturf when they brought the second cut in.
Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

Stone would be very slick if it rained or there was a heavy dew.  The 12th bridge has a bit of an uphill / downhill slippery thingy going on there.

Maybe something artificial, astroturf painted to look like cobblestone, would suit y'all.

Just lay one big sod roll on it for the week.
It is what it is.

One thing one has to say for Augusta they’ve managed to keep all out commercialism at bay - otherwise the obvious improvement to the bridge would be a “moving floor” with some hard core advertising printed on it - revolving endlessly. :D

What are the insurance liabilities for a bridge without any safety posts? ???
