Courses on the Costa del Sol, Spain
« on: August 23, 2006, 01:08:05 PM »
I'm going on a golfing trip to Spain in September. I've been told that the courses we are playing are:
Mijas (designer Robert Trent Jones Senior)
Santana (designer Cabell Robinson)
Torrequebrada (designer Pepe Gancedo)
La Cala (designer Cabell Robinson)

Has anyone played any of these courses or able to shed any light on them other than what can be gleaned from each courses website?
2014 to date: not actually played anywhere yet!
Still to come: Hollins Hall; Ripon City; Shipley; Perranporth; St Enodoc

Please report back to us when you've been there - photos and opinions, please.

Andrew, I played one of the two courses at La Cala a few years ago. I don't have very strong recollections. I think there is a Leadbetter academy there, in case you lose your way! I think Cabell Robinson may have designed the second course at San Roque which I liked.

torrequebrada is ok.  kinda quirky.  hilly.  too many high rise condos lining the perimeter of the course

I understand that nearby Club de Golf de Torquemada will subject your game to a rigorous inquisition!  :o

Just kidding.  The Costa del Golf should be beautiful about now.
