A real shot in the course of a round.  Any relief for a ball that plugs more with each passing wave?  Any relief from casual (at least temporarily) water? Played it as it laid, leading to a double bogey.  Man was that sand heavy.

How far did you advance the ball to arrive in this location..I see a tee no more than 20yds behind you.  That ain't what I can winter golf...where you at.

The tee you see is the Ladies (from where I didn't play).  I was off the blues and hit a 9 iron about 135.  A little underclubbed and a little chunky.  I was tring to hit the front edge of a small concrete hard green with water on three sides.  First game in a month.  The game wasn't fine tuned.

Where is this nightmare located?

Last time I hit off a beach I was a lot luckier.  #2 second shot at North Berwick West Links after pushing a tee shot out onto the fortunately not-OB beach.  The tide was out.  My ball sat up cleanly on the wet sand.  Nipped a 6-iron onto the green after a perfect line from my caddy.  Life is good!

It's #5 at Teeth of the Dog, Casa de Campo.  There was no nipping this one.  It was plugged and getting more plugged by each wave.

No, I don't live there, but I've visited more than a few times.  And, I did have fun.  First time I've had to play off the  beach.  Five hours off a cruise ship - one round this time.  If it wasn't fun to play on that course, I think I'd give up the game.  Sometimes I think that some of the people on this site are so busy analysing and critiquing courses and equipment and the USGA, that they miss the fundamental joy of playing the game - good course or not.  Sometimes my golf life is a beach.
