Mike,

It finally hit me why these are so important to you.  As a Michigan State guy, it is absolutely critical to be in the top 25 because counting beyond that at MSU required their Masters program.  ;) ;)
And I took full blame then, and retain such now.  My utter ignorance in not trumpeting a course I have never seen remains inexcusable.

Wiggles:

Michigan State and Illinois are the two best teams in the Big Ten and both underrecognized by Top 25 lists.  (The conference as a whole is not.  Putrid this year.)

I'm a little surprised at how long it took MSU to "undo" the non-Conference schedule losses in the eyes of voters.

It matters not how you play in December.  (At least for tournament success.)  Arizona and Syracuse should have proven that.

Your analysis seems perfectly reasonable to me. (as usual)

I don't think we will be hearing from the fictional Mr. Michaels again.

John,

I was referring to the Ocean Course remaining in the top 25 modern.  Not MSU.  But your point is also valid for MSU hoops.

Curse Michigan and, as of last night, curse Wisconsin! :P

At MSU we milked the cows.  At UofM, they dated them...
