I am pretty sure there used to be a cut after the 3rd round at the Open. Does anyone know if that is still the case?

The 3rd round cut was last used in the 1985 Open at Royal St. George's.

Was not around for long the Players hated it!
Coming back for Q School Stage 1. Cut after 36 and 54 holes, think its something like 'within 12 strokes of the last qualifying spot' at 36 then within 7 strokes of the last qualifying spot at 54. Probably just gets rid of those that shoot 80-80.
A combination of whats good for golf and good for turf.
