Interestingly, it's a list of the best public course in each state, though they never say that.  I wasn't 100% sure of this until I got to Pennsylvania and the #1 course was at Nemacolin Woodlands!

Check out the entry photo for Maine, quite the treacherous waste area separating those fairways!

Cog Hill being number one in Illinois is dead giveaway (Arcadia Bluffs and the Prairie Club as well, I suppose, along with probably many others).  Weird that they'd use a picture from course #2 at Cog instead of Dubs.

disagree on Idaho. Probably should be Coeur d'Alene resort. Circling Raven is at the bottom of my Indian casino list.

Funny you mention this, cause I think Circling Raven is far better, and I've played both several times.

But if we're including privates, neither of these two are even in the discussion...

I liked the resort course better than Circling Raven as well. I liked Circling Raven though. But yes, the privates blow these away.

Fascinating, I thing CR is head and shoulders above CD. I love the terrain, shots into the greens and the green complexes better. It’s not as pretty but I thought, except for 18, it was very good.

Agreed Tommy,

CDA is a good looking, fun dumb blonde...for a little while. But Circling provides a lot more substance and varied options to keep one interested in multiple plays. And yes its a pity about the 18th.  With the train tracks and wetland areas, it seems there was no good way to get it back home, but even some of the worlds best courses have this problem.  ;)

Figured i'd add this here instead of starting a new thread.  Top 25 exclusive clubs in the world.

This one seems at least a bit more plausible.  Anyone played em all?

Can't disagree with most of the ones they picked as best public that I have played, other than Florida. I'd much rather play a Streamsong course or World Woods Pine Barrens than TPC Sawgrass

Kalen,

I believe I may have played the 25 Least Exclusive courses.  ;)

In any case, your link starts at the end with slide 26 so folks can't navigate from there within the link.
