Duncan, great picture. I would have sworn that there was another hole on the other side of the OB stakes.


Pat, when I played in 2013 the OB stakes were buried in high fescue and heather. Maybe with the crowds that issue was taken away. When I played it would have been a lost ball if the stakes weren’t there. If the normal fescue was there I don’t think the conditions would dictate a different club. The fescue was unplayable.However  you were at that level and I’ve never been so you may very well be right.

There is another hole left...way left of the 1st...its the 18th (old 16th).  When I was there OOB was in the thick rough left.  One thing I liked about the OOB was no faffin about when balls went left toward the stands etc...just reload...saves time. For regular play, it makes no sense to me.  That said, nobody was screwed as it was the same for all. 

I think that road is new...I have no memory of it.
