After watching today it seems that sloped small greens can still handle green speeds at 12 or above without anyone looking silly.
Green firmness seemed to have more of an effect.

I'm not sure those greens stimped 12
They were perfect and yielded super fast putts as well as super slow ones
but I'd guess more like 11-11.5

You might be right, but the article I read said they were at 12 on Thursday.

10.5-11 my putting instructor friend told me as he was there with some players. Though he left Saturday night.

and putted at perfect, challenging speed from all directions-not just downhill.
I welcome the return of having to hit a putt solid-cuz you don't on greens running 14-which have EXPONENTIALLY less difference between an uphiller and a downhiller from a green sloped(not tiered :( ) to provide a stern challenge at 10.5
