Its not on a golf course.  There is a popular spot just north of downtown SLC that gives a near 360 degree view where you can see the entire Salt Lake Valley, the mountains to the east, the lake to the North West, all with a spectacular view of downtown.

Its a nice spot to meditate and take it all in..

The sound of the sea when your playing a links course. Can be surprising how far the sound will carry when the wind is from offshore (as is the distance that sea spray will sometimes travel).

Last weekend of September in Sand Valley on a father/son trip with two best friends and our 5 boys all in their 20s now.

Standing on the 14th tee at Mammoth, it was SO still and quiet that it actually felt loud....if that makes sense. There was literally no noise of any kind. No birds, no cars, no white noise, no distant noises...nothing.

Our ears strained to process this. It was eerie...and very, very cool.

I started this thread sitting in a cigar bar in Indianapolis. I was alone listening to the most crap filled pablum in my life. Isn't silence grand?
