Rounds 4 Research 2017
« on: April 30, 2017, 09:05:52 AM »
Fellow golf lovers,

It's that time of year again and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America is asking for your help to improve the quality of golf courses everywhere.  How, by simply bidding on a tee time in the 2017 Rounds 4 Research auction.  There are currently over 1100 items in nearly 40 states available for auction beginning tomorrow.  This year's auction is May 1 through May 7 and proceeds fund turfgrass research.  Thanks in advance for your support!

Very good!

I have played some great places in the past thanks to this fundraiser.  And a good fund raiser it is.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

I am sure the organization has nothing to do with the "value" associated with the prize but many are rather silly.

$1400 value for a well regarded NY met area course for a Monday round after two PM?

Each facility establishes the value amount you see listed.  Unfortunately there are no criteria each facility must follow that would allow for a level of consistency.  Many courses base the value on the Green Fees or Guest Fees for one foursome but others obviously elevate their value as they see fit.  Please don't let that discourage you from browsing and finding some elusive gems or that stay and play package that you manage to get for less than face value.  There is something for everyone and all for a great cause.

Thanks Brad!

The proceeds fund vital turfgrass research programs at our many land grant institutions across the country.  This research ultimately leads to improved grass varieties and better plant protectant products/methods which in turn provides superintendents the tools to better care for your courses whilst consuming fewer resources and enhancing environmental sustainability.  With courses spread from the Carolinas to California there is much to choose from.  Heck, just in NC alone there are over one dozen Donald Ross designed courses plus a well regarded Strantz, a Coore/Crenshaw and a Maxwell available.  What's not to love.  ;)

Thank you all for the support!  www.rounds4research.com

I just want to thank everyone a final time for your positive feedback.  The auction is currently ahead of last year's pace as we enter the final two days.  Auction concludes this Sunday at 10:00 pm EDT.  Best of luck for those participating and thanks again for supporting a #GreatCause.

Don't mind paying the price once, it's just paying that price every time I play that doesn't work for me...
