Fairway contouring at Streamsong Black
« on: January 13, 2017, 01:29:37 PM »
After signing up for the Dixie Cup at Streamsong, I went to Google Earth to figure my best route to get down there this fall and noticed the construction site of the new Black course. Having a look around my eyes jumped out at the contours in the fairway of one of the holes under construction. Notice these images from different vantage points - is this rumple man-made or is it natural?

This is without a doubt a nice bit of contouring in the fairway, judging from the air. Would love to hear from anyone here familiar with this particular piece of ground. Thanks.

 8)  Eric,

Did you notice what looks to be irrigation lines spaced about every 20 yds or so that I've point at and what looks like heads that I've circled?  Also the wet spot lower right?  Could the contouring be settlement and or erosion after running the sprinklers?  Just wondering...

They are on the right in this image - I spent time finishing this hole with a sand pro.
They are man made. So is everything in front of you too!

Ian,

Wow, that is sandy. One more time, what is the main grass used at SS?

There's no well done for me - just for the guys that worked there.
I just played in the sand for two weeks ... and tried not to screw up their great work.

I think the feature is Ben Hillard's ... but I may be wrong.

The whole site is man made.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.
