i am sorry if the instructions are out there somewhere, but I just cannot figure out how to post photos.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

Step 2:  put img in front and /img behind it, like this:  img http://weknowyourdreams.com/images/sunset/sunset-01.jpg /img

Step 3:  Put braces around each img [ and ]

Step 4:  It looks like this

Beyond what Kalen showed, which is for pics with existing URL's off the web somewhere, have you signed up for a free photo hosting site like Photobucket?? 


That's one service that in essence provides a way to upload your pics, edit them, and get a web jpg URL for each pic to cut and paste into a post as Kalen showed.  You can trim the URL provided from Photo bucket to just have the part that gets linked

Flickr is an excellent photo hosting service that provides each photo with a unique (and thus postable) URL, has the support of a large number of apps including native iPad/iPhone support, and it gives you a ton of space for free. It's one of the services I use, and the one I use to host the images I post here.

[OT] By the way, for those of you who have a decent number of photos (of golf courses or anything else) I cannot recommend Google Photos highly enough. It allows unlimited uploads at high resolution, can be set to automatically upload new photos, has an outstanding app that allows you to search your own photo collection using google's excellent algorithm (so you can search your photos for something like "dogs" or "beaches" or "Bob" and it will pull up all the photos that correspond), and it's all free. Even if you don't use the features, it's wonderful as a redundant offsite backup for your images. An absolute must have for anyone with photos they care about, in my opinion.[/OT]

It's become totally glacial on my Windows laptop - although not so bad on the Tablet app, strangely. I think they want us to pay to remove the ads...

Not being a computer techie but I have often wonderd if there's a way we could have a drag-n-drop feature to load photos directly into GCA posts? Feasible, unfeasible, costly?
Just asking.

That would be the easist, but would make GCA.com more costly for storage space, which shouldn't be much as storage is very cheap.
Additionally, SMF would probably charge Ran more to expose that functionality on this site.


P.S.  As for that error message, if thats showing up on your PC, it more than likely means you are running out of RAM or CPU on your machine and need to close a few programs.  Your Task Manager is a good way to view and manage these.

They are sold to advertisers who scour your the photos of your family to see who needs teeth whitening, hair remediation and/or various other all inclusive vacation opportunities. Those ads don't pop up on Google by themselves. Next time the greeter at Walmart leads you to the family planning isle, don't ask why.

If you see a 508 Error in your browser when trying to reach this site, then its not your equipment, its the hosting site issue!  So you wouldn't have to check your local processes...


It would probably look like this.

That message means that GCA has exceeded its bandwidth limit for a period of time.

Coincidentally, this is also the reason why we can't have drag/drop photo posting. While Kalen is right and the additional storage space for photos stored locally on GCA would be cheap, having the photos stored on GCA would result in a massive increase in bandwidth costs.

As it stands now, when you load a post on GCA containing photos, the text is sent to your computer from GCA's server, but the images are sent from the photohosting site on which the photo is hosted.
