It's a driver. If you're going to hit a tree, hit it with force, I always say. It might kick out.
Of course, the theory that if you are going to be in trouble, I would rather be in trouble 250 yards out, instead of 200 yards out ...
But what if instead of 250 yards out, your driver caroms off a tree into the greenside bunker on 8? And then you have to wait patiently for the group on 8 tee to play before making your routine double?
Purely hypothetical of course...
