Jud,
What do you man when you say male golfers and Digest editors play courses that are too long for them?

I just mean the rating criteria of difficulty and the desire to play highly rated tournament tracks leads many retail golfers to bite off more than they can chew.  Additionally, how many medium hitting 15-20 handicaps have you seen teeing it up from 6600-6800 yards who should be playing off 6300 or less?  What do you think causes this?  Who was the last rater who played those boxes on such a course (if they're even available)?

Jud T,

can you please explain your last sentence? I don't understand what you mean and couldn't find a good enough translation. Thx

Angela,

I just meant the rating criteria of difficulty as a positive and the issue of a rater playing a known "important" course and being unable to render a truly independent judgement as a result.
