Nay wind Nay golf--the 15th at Portmarnock

 Watching the Irish Open i noticed few players having trouble with this marvelous par 3.Links require wind to play as designed.If you make a hole playable in 20 mile an hour wind,it can be easy in a zephyr.
   But the course still held up well.I also realized it only has 3 threes and 3 fives.

Since Dan Kelly(tm)is on vacation (and doesn't know squat about Scottish etymology, in any case....) you should all know that the proper phrase is "Nae wind, nae gowf."

I understand.  But.........just because Mr. Ed says it "Neigh wind, neigh golf" doesn't make him right, either.........

The only Fulldelphian's I have ever met are from this website, and in recognition of one of them, the above monniker, combining the name of the Highland castle of a late lamented world champion gin drinker and royal personage and the surname of one of the early Doyens of the Rules of Golf, seems entirely appropriate.

I was out there on the practice day. What really made the course easier was the softness of the greens and fairways. There was a 10 to 15 mph wind most days, which wasn't that strong. 11 under didn't destroy the course.

I hadn't been there in years. It was great to see the course again.
