The circle gets smaller.

Good for all involved. The two newest members are certainly accomplished. Considering that the club already allows women to play the course, I can't imagine this will change the club's culture much.

Didn't I win some money on this one?  8)  Well done, now my wife will let me join!  They did a nice job of finally putting this behind them without appearing to bow too obviously to the mounting public pressure.  The odds of Condaleeza not appearing on TV milling about in a green jacket during next year's toonament are slim to none.

C. Rice is also an avid golfer.  Well done on accepting someone with a love of the game as a prerequisite.

This is great. I respected ANGC's right to have an all male membership before, but this is in everyone's best interest as Augusta will remain the most high profile private club in the world for years to come.

Condaleeza lands memberships at Cypress Point and ANGC in the same year. Not bad at all.

There's a reason these two were picked... According to their bios, they believe the other 159,999,998 women in this country still don't have control over their reproduction system.

I'm really happy about this.  Dr. Rice is a fantastic addition to the membership of Augusta - a good golfer, a world leader, and a lady that says her dream job is to be Commissioner of the NFL!

I don't know anything about Darla Moore, but I wish her happiness and success at that little piece of heaven.

Who knows - I'd still love to see a Ladies' Masters someday.

That's why they call it progress... Speaking of which, at least two members believe the rest of them should be paying more taxes for all their 'job creating' activities.

I will become much more interested in the admissions policies of ANGC when they start considering middle class high school teachers/coaches for membership.  That two wealthy women have gotten into the club is of no concern or interest to me, and I'm as liberal as they come.

AG,

I don't know the financial details of admission and yearly dues at ANGC but it would seem to me that if middle class high school teachers/coaches became members, I'd begin auditing the school budgets  ;D

Patrick,
Of course you understand that I only continue to teach and coach after 38 years because I love what I do; I long since became wealthy beyond imagination.  That ANGC is not interested in me as a member is pure class warfare, and I wouldn't join now if they asked me! ;D

My hat is off to ANGC....

...as we all know progress very rarely comes in any shape other that very small steps that lead to bigger and better things.
