How could Mike Davis make the Masters a better tournament?

Sure, but I'm more interested in Mike's love of using different teeing grounds.  14 at Torrey Pines is a perfect example.

He'd obviously start by moving the Masters around the country, preferably to either old but creaking courses that need to be brought into the 21st century through massive expenditure to prove that even the great historic venues were not yet obsolete due to the USGA's failures to rein in technology and/or new ones designed in the middle of nowhere so that Masters Golf (tm) could be brought to more of the people.  If we were realy lucky he'd bring it some day to southern Illinois...

I'm more thinking about the fact that the 2014 and 2015 US Opens will be played over courses with either no or non-traditional "rough." I think even Davis' most ardent critic would not seriously think Davis would want the rough made long and gnarly at ANGC, would he/she?

Re: teeing grounds, I would love to see more of the elasticity we've come to see at the US Open of late.  Hasn't #3 been made drivable on one or two days over the last few Masters?  Maybe move the tee way up on one of the front-side par 3s too?

I think the the dreaded "second cut" at Augusta is more playable than the average fairway.  It is fluffy ryegrass cut somewhere around 1-inch.  I don't think it really qualifies as "rough."

From an elasticity standpoint, they do move the tees around quite a bit at Augusta.  They even used members tees on a couple of holes.
