BURNHAM BREAK: 19 & 20 March 2011: Slots Filled
« on: November 13, 2010, 12:07:38 PM »
Saturday two times starting at 1pm.
Sunday three times starting at 9:30am.

There is no Saturday competition on the Channel so it is possible to play.  There are no tee times, just show up and get in line.  I don't recall the cost, but it is neglible and may be very neglible for Dormy House guests.

Four twin rooms are booked so choose your partners well.  The cost (not to include Channel Course) is £135 to include two rounds of golf and b&b.  We have eight committed and can take up to 8 (perhaps even more if that many are interested).  If interested, let me know.  It would be most appreciated if folks could start to post the deposit cheques of £35 per person.

Spangles (£30dp)
Paul Ridley (£30 dp)

I guess you lot realize those dates are in dead conflict with the dates of the Kings Putter at Bandon Dunes.    :o ;D

Ace

To be honest we hadn't thought anybody would specifically travel abroad for this deal so the timing with KP isn't an issue.  Of course, if folks want to travel over they are more than welcome!

Just "Yanking" your chain, but I would love to get another play at Burnham.  The overnight sounds great, I love dormie house stays.

Hi Sean. I'd be up for this if there is room left?

Ace McBride knows a thing or two about conflicting dates!

Those who haven't played the Channel Course must do so on this visit. Great fun from 4 to 9.

Yes, the Channel Course is one of the few true links (un-man-watered links) left in England.  There are some terrific holes on the course, but it is far too narrow if there is even a hint of wind on the horizon (ie its a Rock Flight course despite the softer ball being a distinct advantage).  Still, I like the course and the price is certainly right.  Boony and I will try to arrange something for those that want a go.

Sean,

I have to credit Scott and Robin for my new found love of the Channel. First time I played it, I didn't enjoy it at all and then when you kept going on about it I thought you were going nuts, but after a quick 9 with those two before the main event on the Championship course, earlier this year, I really enjoyed it. Just goes to show how good company can make you appreciate a course more!

Cheers,

James

All, we still need one more golfer.  Get on board.

Bandon for The King's Putter in March, England for Buda in late September, Orange County of southern California for a few days in early May, Royal Ottawa in early June, and plenty of time up at Predator Ridge and Sagebrush (GCAers welcome) over the summer. Currently planning another two day event at Sagebrush. Likely early July this time.

Other possibilities include Wine Valley and the Portland area.

I wored my B&B jumper proudly at the Kings Putter (although you usually couldn't see it under the rain gear!) -- that is a neat logo.
