Looks like a blast.

George, do you have any more of those before/after photos?  What a beautiful change.

John we have a whole series of before and after - some of them have to be updated because of continuing tree removal

here is a nice picture taken from behind the reverse redan green - the tee is way up on the hill. This is one of the best RR - it really works

If a player insists on playing his maximum power on his tee-shot, it is not the architect's intention to allow him an overly wide target to hit to but rather should be allowed this privilege of maximum power except under conditions of exceptional skill.

George Bahto,

Sleepy Hollow would seem to be an excellent example of a good restoration project, not just in terms of the apparent results, but, in terms of the "project" itself.

It should be a primer for other clubs.

All too often restoration work is done piecemeal and often fizzles out long before completion, leaving a hybrid design.

Committing to a project consisting of a single effort and then seeing it through to fruition seems like a formula for success.

If you have before and after pictures, including dates, you should create a portfolio, like models, and have Sleepy Hollow as your prime exhibit.

That would seem to be a great tool, a great selling point for other clubs considering restoration work.

If everyone had to pick the best hole on the course...and then also their favorite hole on the course, what would it be?

Best = 15.  fave = tough call, and I may change my mind from day to day, but I'll say a toss-up between 3 and 17.

Best and favorite #5

Gil and George much improved the aesthetics of this hole as well as the strategy.  Much improved tee shot with a diagonal carry over rocks and  alps feature.  The hole is much better from the new back tee nearer the #4 green.  This is the only hole I feel cheat back on by playing from the rear tees.

A good drive will roll down the hill to about 150 yards leaving a neat shot to a skyline green.  It helps to stay right off the tee but George did create a small mound right of the green that will direct shots on the green if played correctly.

Can anyone think of a skyline green where you see such an impressive sight (the Hudson and Palisades and High Tor) while playing the hole only to be left with the total uncertainty of the skyline while actually playing the shot?

Corey Miller,

I think that's a neat and unique feature of the hole.

You're given a glimpse of the backround, then have nothiing but sky as a backround, then you're re-introduced to a view of the backround.

It's a terrific hole, with ample challenge.
