Panmure is an excellent layout worthy of any visiting golfer’s itinerary. While the first and last few holes occupy a rather flat and featureless plot, the holes away from the clubhouse occupy a stellar “dunescape.” I played the course after a morning round on the fabled links at Carnoustie and was surprised to find that Panmure held its own in such esteemed company.
The following link will lead you to a review of the course authored by resident GCA.com member Gordon Jones:

The par 3 5th.

Looking across the 7th fairway to the 6th approach and green

The 6th approach from the left side gunk.

Looking right from the same position where the previous photo was taken, looking over the 6th fairway to the 8th and 9th greens in the distance.

A look back down the 6th to a foursome putting out on the 7th green.

Looking at the right side of the 6th green from the 7th teeing grounds.

The 7th tee shot.

The 7th approach seen from the left-hand hay.

The 8th tee shot plays blind over the aiming pole off the tee, then between or over the two prominent mounds to a flattish green.

I hit a long ball off the tee that found the right rough, leaving a short approach wil no view of the stick (it was behind the right mound). The 6th green is visible to the left in the distance.

Looking back to the 8th tee from behind the green.

A view back to the 8th green from the 9th green.

The 9th tee shot.

A closer look at the front of the 9th green.

This view from the right of the 9th green shows another bunker that is hidden from the tee behind the mound left of the green.

The par 3 11th green is seen on the right (scroll over); the fairway of the par 4 10th is seen on the left.

The 12th hole plays from right of frame to the elevated green pictured across the burn..

Looking back from behind the 12th green, the 12th fairway is seen running in from the left, with the 13th fairway beyond playing on a parallel line from right to left.

The 13th tee shot.

The 13th approach shot.

The 14th tee shot, hard against the o.b. rail line on the right.

The 14th approach

Looking across the 16th green to the majestic clubhouse.

The 18th doglegs to the right around another o.b. area.

A last look at the clubhouse and practice green.
