Hello All;

As many of you may know I am now the superintendent at Shuttle Meadow CC.  I have recently had the great fortune to be Dean Paolucci at Glen Ridge in New Jersey and am looking to further expand my Willie Park viewing and study.  The kinship between Shuttle Meadow and Glen Ridge was evident and without having been to Glen Ridge prior to, it seems their restoration in recent years has been a tremendous success.  If you get the chance I would highly recommend getting together with Dean and having a visit.  I am very interested in connecting with more Willie Park Jr. aficionados and learning much more.

Cheers,
Steve

Kyle , we have a hidden gem in Greate Bay down here close to Ocean City NJ .....a 1923 Park.  Some of the course runs thru a housing development , which tempers some opinions , but there are some great Park features  :  a bunch of false fronts that are really subtle ,  a punchbowl green  #5  and lots of big saucer greens that fall away on the edges .  It's worth a trip some day as it's close by .

He went back home and died quite soon after Greate Bay (then OC - Somers Point Golf Club )  was built and I'll try to scratch up some of the early history of his work here

cheers

"Archie"

Any of the Philmont threads will yield a lot of info. There was another thread on Woodway in CT that was helpful.
