St Enodoc - British Master of Backdrops?
« on: April 19, 2009, 05:02:02 AM »
I'm sorry guys, this is another thread on St Enodoc... ;D
Last week I got the chance to play St Enodoc Golf Club in Cornwall. I was really impressed with the course, even after all the accolades  here on GCA.
It is so varied and spectacular, that it's nearly impossible not to have fun here. Thinking about the day on our way home, I noticed that the backdrops of the greens might be the most varied and beatiful that I've seen so far on links courses.

Here's what I mean:
1st: small dunes 50 yards or so behind the green, view of Camel Estuary.
2nd: more skyline, some bushes behind the green.
3rd: the 4th hole, bushes, Brae hill, 'forest' in the distance.
4th: Brae Hill, bushes, 'forest' in the distance.
5th:dunes, other side of estuary.
6th: amphitheatre in the dunes.
7th: Camel estuary, small dunes behind the 8th tee.
8th: skyline, field in the distance
9th: beatiful 'forest', Brae Hill.
10th: Church to the right, village in the distance left.
11th: bushes, Camel estuary (only from the white tees)
12th: bushes, village in the distance.
13th: depending on your angle to the green, field or skyline.
14th: skyline, Padstow in the distance, when you're on the green: everything.
15th: Dunes, Camel Estuary.
16th: majestic Dunes, Estuary to the right.
17th: Dunes in the distance.
18th: 1930's Clubhouse.

Can anybody who has played more links than I confirm or do you disagree?
