I'm headed to Gasparilla Island next week. Where is the best public golf around Sarasota, preferably south but not all the way to Ft. Myers? Thanks!

Try Venetian Golf & River Club near Venice. It's been mentioned here before:

Most convenient to Boca Grande is Coral Creek. Decent fazio, usually in good condition. Private, but think it should be accessible.
