inauguration thought related to golf architecture

Hope this is taken in the correct spirit.Two of my three favorite places are the National Mall and The Old Course. As I sat freezing yesterday,for a brief time my mind wandered. Are the Mall and TOC about the same size? Could one of you computer gurus figure this out? Is this just the wandering of a GCA adicted mind?

Hmmmm

Starts in the middle of town.  Out and back routing.  Basically level ground.  Owned by and for the People.

If only they could filll in that big lateral water hazard......

Because I'm completely bored and suffering cabin fever, I used Google planometer and got ~190 acres from Capital steps to Lincoln Monument and width of the mall in a rectangle, without elipse and such.  Plenty of room there.

Thanks,RJ. I have about convinced myself that the distance from the R & A to the Eden green would be similar to the length of the Mall. Perhaps this will be the subject of a"National Treasure" sequel.

I was going to ask if anybody knew who designed the White House putting green? I know Ike put it there originally but I also read that it isn't in the same spot now that it was then.

I wonder if each incoming president gets to determine how it plays.... Clinton likes it stimping at 10, while George HW likes it firm.

I am more curious about your third favorite place.  Is it mentionable in "polite" company?  Does it involve golf?

I think Trent Jones did the original and it seems like Fazio did some work on it during the first Bush administration.
