This course was a pleasant surprise (to me), given (I think) it was the first Hills course I'd ever played, and Hills himself had been there within the last few years to re-do his own design. It was a nice public gem, like World Woods, in the middle of 'nowhere'. Lots of waste areas (not all parallel to playing lines), a number of central fairway bunkers, strategy, & some killer greens.
The mound fronting the long par 4 7th green:
From the side:
Bad pic of a terrific par 3 (#8) w/a well-sloped green:
Tee shot on par 4 9th, w/centerline bunker:
Par 4 10th, w/split fairway (upper & lower):
Par 4 12th, w/bunker left side of fairway, guarding optimal line in. Right side of fairway has blind/semi-blind shot over right waste bunker high lip:
Somewhat Dye-like green to par 4 15th:
Wide fairway second shot on par 5 17th, left side of fairway is optimal angle:
From the right side of the quasi-Biarritz green on #17:
We spend a good 15 minutes trying all kinds of putts on this green (I feel bad I can't recall for sure, but I think that's [L-R]: Steve Hyden [?], John Mayhugh, and John Goodman):
Par 5 18th, w/centerline bunkers & more:
Wildly undulating green, w/spine running front front to back:
