Of course they hyped their way to a fake crown that year.

You LSU people won't give up that USC was the best team that year.   I guess they faked having 2 Heisman winners on the team.

Ask Vinny Testaverde or Herschel Walker how much a Heisman is worth for a National Championship.

Having 2 Heisman winners on their team didn't really help USC vs. Texas now did it?  That year's Heisman should have been Vince Young's anyway.  Reggie Bush won it thanks to the ESPN hype machine.

Joel,

I would have liked to have seen USC play anybody remotely decent all season.   ;D

7 wins against teams without winning records, 4 wins against teams with winning records. USC is good, very good, but we'll never really know how good until they play serious competetion week in and week out.

Ditto for the Big 12, the high octane offense we heard about all year was really just the result of really weak defenses.

How dominant would Florida be in the PAC 10 or Big 10 or Big 12?

Florida would have frozen in the Big Ten in November.

Could not agree more.  This is why I am now for a playoff 8 or 16 teams with the first round being a home game for the higher seeded team.
