I think many of you  will like this www.unionbaygolflinks.com. It looks like it might be very good.
Firm greens, firmer fairways.

With the placements of the U-Tube vignettes on the course construction at Castle Stuart, and this website, one must give Gill the nod as leading in the audio-visual marketing department of GCAs.  Man, that looks like a real spectacular job he has landed.

My initial thought was in the simulated projections of that 18th hole, I was amazed that such construction could be done (ala 18 at Pebble) within whatever permitting guidelines that may exist up there in B.C.  I wonder if anything remotely like it could be done under the perview of the California Coastal Commission.

At any rate, this looks like a spectacular project, and I am very happy for Gill, particularly in context with a primier project he was partially sidelined.

Good Luck, Gill and team!  ;D 8) 8)

I've spent some time up on Vancouver Island, and it's one of the most spectacular places I've ever been to.  The natural beauty is breathtaking.

What potential!

If I understand the video right, the course is set on the former industrial port. If it is the case, getting permission to built holes on the water might have been easier since old heavy industrial sites are often contaminated land (which might explain why no houses are there).

I'll bet it's land from the old coal depots.

I think that is correct  - I also heard that the waterfront land wasn't suitable for building, so the waterfront had to go to the golf course.

Union Bay is about 5 minutes from the best oysters on the Island, which is not a bad thing.

I can't even believe that opening image on the website. I have a design ready to go for another golf project and now everyone's going to think I stole the idea from that one.

Very well done
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Don't worry we won't.
As you aren't the only one....
The railroad made those for years.
I even have a very large one hanging on my wall of North Berwick.  :)
I bet the Wolf Point one will make a nice tee shirt too.
Cheers
