Great movie, but I never understand how the match ended up.   First of all, Rodney deliberately pretended he was hurt, right?  Why would they have let a substitution for a match of that size?  Secondly, if they were all tied going into the last hole and both of them made their respective puts, then how did Judge Small lose so much money?

I always thought that the main bet was a tie, but Smails lost because of agreeing to double the bet on whether or not Danny made the putt.  But Al's saying double or nothing he makes it wasn't quite right.

Danny had the classic Reverse C follow through, he probably has had back problems since the early 90s ...

I think Judge Smails has the modern swing, rotating around a stiff left leg.  He might have had the same knee problems as Tiger, with all the torque his swing generated ...

As for Lacy ...

Isn't there some kind of oddity there that has never been explained by the actual scores?  I seem to remember Danny needed that putt for par, and when it finally dropped in, the referee exclaimed that it was a birdie - which was almost impossible.  I think there's a whole conspiracy thing about that situation and if I wasn't so tired, I'd probably look it up.

And by the way, it takes ~40 seconds for that putt to finally topple into the hole.  Not that Lou Loomis was one for the rule book, I wouldn't think.   :)

"I think this place is restricted, Wang, so don't tell 'em you're Jewish."  That still cracks me up.

ps.  Wow, was tonight's re-run ever edited.  Holy cow.
