Clubs with group lodging on-site
« on: March 25, 2008, 10:25:24 PM »
I recently returned from Shoal Creek where my group stayed on premises.  The convenience of sleeping only seconds away from the first tee cannot be underestimated in my opinion.  It dramatically added to the golfing experience.

What other courses/clubs have group lodging on-site?

Clubs with on-site lodging that come to mind off the top of my head:

Whisper Rock
Black Rock
Windsong Farms
Sand Hills
Ballyneal
Dismal River
Links of ND ( if you count an RV lot  ;) )

That's just a few... as the sound of the Dismal River lulls you to sleep after 54 holes and the most glorious of sunsets  :D

Oakmont has a house that sleeps 2 or 3 that can only be used in special situations.

My club, GMGC, has group lodging on site if the group doesn't mind sleeping in bunkers.

Riviera, I, believe still has apartments within the main clubhouse for members/guests use.

Pauma Valley has bungalow's along the 10th hole for overnight guests.

Would the cottages at Valley Club qualify? They served as a base in Shack's fictional book about MacK.

My favorites are the rooms above the clubhouse at classic clubs.  It can get kind of spooky if you are alone in the building in a Shining kind of way.  I have been very fortunate to stay in the Sam Snead room overlooking the first tee at Riviera.  I believe Olympia Fields has similar rooms.  What about Beverly or Olympic Lake?

The main clubhouse is a couple of Par 5's from the golf house, but Wianno's rooms and cabins sit right on Nantucket Sound:
