In case you have trouble digging up the old PG threads (some had pictures), here is the condensed version.
For the past 30+ years, PG was a pedestrian (code for boring
) daily fee course, with flattish greens, flat fairways and poor drainage. Whatever unique Bill Bell touches the course had were pretty much worn away over the past several decades.
The property changed hands a few years ago and the new owner wanted to improve/upgrade the course and the whole facility.
Forrest Richardson was brought in a year or so ago. He re-arranged a few holes, added a lot more contour & interest to the greens, improved the bunkering, added some movement to the fairways and improved the drainage. The course is now far more interesting and offers more playing options.
The course was closed for about 10 months and re-opened for play a couple of months ago. The owners are selling memberships and I presume their goal is to take the club private.
