NBC and Match Play
« on: February 24, 2008, 02:05:22 PM »
God, their coverage is terrible!  After sitting through 15 minutes of old sports news while they update us on what happened yesterday, we finally get to see the final 18 holes of a 36 hole match.  And during that match we'll be subjected to highlights of the past 3 days and a couple of Jim Gray "feel good pieces".

Craig:

I've always liked to watch match-play, in this 64-player format, until the last day -- largely because they have to fill up so much time in between shots because they can't cut to other players. It's tedious.

It's called DVR.  Even better than when JB Holmes is playing :).

NBC's photography is an abomination! They simply cannot get it right.

I think Faldo is actually quite good. The Golf Channel was marginally better than NBC. I think CBS does better than either.

I keep expecting Phil Mickelson to slip some HGH into Tigers drink bottle, then drop dime on him. Better way than Kelly's suggestion. Poor Tiger rivals!  :o

The issue I have is the lack of shots of actual play.  Nothing is more boring than watching star players WATCH their opponent play a shot.

A quick afternoon click showed that Tiger was 8 up, that was it for me-I was off to a basketball game.
