Wayne, at my club in chicago caddies are mandatory. They also only carry a single bag. The flat rate is $30, 40, and 50.I generally pay my caddie  $75 unless he is a very poor caddie. The caddiemaster is aware of what members pay and obviously the better tippers get more seasoned caddies. Even if a cart is taken($40) a caddie is also mandatory and not a fore caddie-they run alongside the cart. Pull carts are not allowed. As an aside the fact that we have 300 caddies  each year. We also have the largest number of Evans Scholars Alums-300 a number we are very proud of.

Here's what we have at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island:

1)  Caddy fees, excluding tips

10-18 holes -- No Caddie Fee

1-9 holes -- No Caddie Fee

Tipping is encouraged.  If people ask, we suggest $65/bag.

2)  Cart fees

10-18 holes

2 players -- No Cart Fee

1 player -- No Cart Fee

1-9 holes

2 players -- No Cart Fee

1 player -- No Cart Fee

3)  When one or two players use a caddie and any accompanying players use a cart, those in the cart typically pay  ? to the caddy.  We don't make any suggestions on what to tip.  It's up to the player and how much they used their services.

4)  When a forecaddy accompanies two carts, the typical fee for the service is No Forcaddy Fee per player.  Suggest tip of $25-$35/bag.

5)  Are mechanized carts or pull carts allowed?  Yes but we don't provide them.
If the club provides pull carts, the fee per cart is ________.

Wayne:

My club has no caddies and carts are $18 per person for 18 holes - half for 9.  Push carts are $10 rental - carrying permitted at all times.  Another club in the area charges you a fee if you walk and carry on weekend mornings.

3 years ago I played at a club in Florida - caddie fee was $100 per bag - wiped out all the cash I had on me.

Best policy I have ever seen is the no tipping and no cash rule at some private clubs I've been to.  Applies to everything.  You pay a fee for the service whether it is for a caddie, a parking valet or a waiter and it appears on your bill.

Wayne,

my club in suburban Philadelphia...

1.  Caddy Fee
18 Holes- There is no "set fee"  for caddies as they are independent contractors...

Including tip, a caddie usually gets $50-60 for 18 holes, half of that for 9 holes.

2.  Cart Fee's 18 holes- 24.50
                    9 holes - 12.50

3.  When 1 or 2 players take a caddie and the others take a cart.  Again, nothing is required, everything is optional but I've seen it range from $0-$25, with $10 being most common.

4.  When a four caddie accompanies two carts- normally 20 plus tip, which usually equates to 25-30pp total.  (which, as a former caddy I might add is a heist!  Some hard working caddie carries double and maybe makes 100-120 bucks and someone else carrying 4 putters makes the same :) )  Unaccompanied guessts not walking are normally required to take a forecaddie...

5.  I do not believe pull carts are allowed..

Course 1:
Caddies double bag
$35 on bill (caddies get $24 the difference goes to taxes, insurance, etc.)
Tip of $30 - $50 per player (average is probably $35)

Course 2:
Caddies single bag
$70 fee
Tip is typically $20-$30

Course 3:
Caddy single bag
$0
Carrying my own bag is priceless!

I have no idea what carts cost.

Wayne:
1-Charles River - Caddies $30, $40, $50 depending on classification includes tip.

2-Cart Fees - $20 - $10 per player half that for nine holes.

3- $5 to $10 per bag

4- $ Supposed to be minimum of $5 per player but in this situation the players would pay a total anywhere from $50 to $100 depending on the classification of the caddie.

Aronimink its $60 for a caddie.  This is also the price if a forecaddie is taken.  It's $60/bag regardless.
