"For what it's worth, this argument has taken place many times on this site and though I may be redundant, I can't resist asking the same question that always comes to mind: why isn't there a discussion board and web site devoted to celebrating the works of Mssrs. Fazio and the other followers of the Framing School of Design?

Surely if the work is as strong as advertised, there must be much to discuss and celebrate?"

There is such a discussion board and web site devoted to that. It's this one and the followers are respresented by John Kavanaugh, or so he apparently would hope!

Tom is right as usual, and I want to re instate my offer to any of those involved from any of the design groups that feel they can't post about any of the criticisms found here....to please post me any of your concerns or rebuttals....and I will pass them on while watching  your backs.

Didn't Mackenzie invent the Framing School of Design?

Thankfully, I've never run across this thread before.

Jay, with all due respect, what the heck are you talking about?  You want to write a letter . . . to Tom Fazio . . . about what exactly . . . and for what purpose?  Let it go, man.

If there's a market for classically-inspired courses and true restoration projects (as there appears to be), things will be okay.  You may have noticed that one Tom Doak is a pretty hot commodity these days.  In my view, that's progress.

I don't want to see great old courses get less than they deserve from a consulting architect, but I really can't muster the outrage that many here can.  ANGC wants to hitch its wagon to Fazio?  Perhaps it's a shame, but it seems a silly thing about which to worry.

This has been an interesting thread. I have read at least a portion of every post except the first two

I just did a spit take against the computer screen. I guess that's the result of skimming through five pages of this.

Derek....don't hold back....just let it go...cleaning the screen can have a calming effect if you slowly chant  "rub on...rub off...rub on... rub off".  :)
