This is new to me  I believe   it lies near  a wide river   in eastern Pa.  Do some Golden Age/ Tilly attributes remain.....fun greens  nice terrain ?

thanks

Mark,

There are a cluster of Tillinghast courses right around Wilkes-Barre, PA that are worth spending a few days in town.

They include;

Fox Hill
Wyoming Valley
Valley
Irem Temple

None of them have had much in the way of changes since Tilly's time and all are on the short side (under 6500 yards) with interesting terrain, cool greens, and various levels of tree management.  I played Fox Hill and Valley for the first times this year and really enjoyed both, although the latter has some really special holes.

Valley was profiled here recently in a thread I pulled up from Kyle Harris last year.

While you're in town, courses worth seeing include Country Club of Scranton (Travis) about a half-hour north of Wilkes-Barre, and Schuylkill CC, mostly by Ross about 45 minutes south, both featuring wonderfully wild greens.

After reading the captions, it looks like a different Fox Hills that was out on Staten island , but seeing that I uploaded these pics I might as well post them. After a quick look at some maps it appears to be NLE.

The first has a nice little backstop, and the second reminds me of some Rees style bunkers that were shown in that Sleepy Hollow thread.
