Creek #6 picts

After the not so great begining 5, all of a sudden a world class stretch of absolutley great holes begins.  This hole might have one of the most interesting greens in metro-NY.
This might be my absolute favorite Raynor green.

For purposes of measuring proportion, Phil Rimler, teaching professional at Glen Oaks club who is 6'4", was used.  As you can observe, there is quite a large amount of depth in the front bunker and surrounding mounds.  The green may have a 10' drop from the front left to the back right.

Believe it or not that wonderful punchbowl green on #6 is a conceptual copy of the ORIGINAL punchbowl 15th green at Mountain Lake in Florida.

Wait til you get to the 10th hole Robert and I tell you what was recently found photographically on that hole.

I remember the Mountain Lake hole, but is there a better version than this?  Maybe it is the start with one of the greatest views in golf melded with an incredbile flowing downhill fairway.

Mountain Lake 15 today isn't Mountain Lake 15 then.

I had the privelege to play there last June.  As soon as I walked across the road a looked at the hole, I knew I was in for something special.  I loved the second shot.  Whe I played it the pin was front right.  I had no clue how to get it close.  I hit five shots into the green and sstill don't know how to get it close.

The first five holes are good but the next 8 or 9 are just terrific.

Robert:

The present 15th green at Mountain Lake is actually the third iteration on that hole.

TEPaul,
The original 15th must have really been something.  I found Mountain Lake to be awesome.  However, I have always found the 6th to be among my favorite holes worldwide.  In the 1998 Met Open, they used a front pin--a birdie might have skinned!
