OU Golf Course

I learned today the the University of Oklahoma Golf Course is closed this summer while all 18 greens are being rebuilt and possibly recontoured in advance of a US Public Links Championship in 2009 or 2010, I forget which.

Seems odd, since the course was only rebuilt 10 years ago. But also necessary as the greens there are boring, somewhat like the rest of the course.

Also some new back tees have been added to what was already a longish course.

Does anyone have more information on what's happening there?

        I cannot find any information about this work. I wonder who is overseeing the work? Tripp Davis would be an obvious choice, he or Heckenkemper get the lion's share of work here in Oklahoma these days. I can't see them hiring an OSU grad (Heckenkemper) to do the work though.
