Does anyone know anything about him? Have any of you ever heard of him?

Tommy,
I did a Master Plan for an Authur Lockwood course outside Philly called Brookside CC.  It's a private club featuring an 18-hole golf course.  The original nine holes were built by the Hill School in 1915 and designed by Lockwood.  Arthur was the inaugural champion in 1903 of the Massachusetts Amateur Championship which is the oldest event conducted by the MGA.  He won the tournament in 1903 at Myopia Hunt Club, in 1905 at The Country Club and again in 1906 at Brae Burn CC.  His original nine holes were the impetus for creating Brookside Country Club in 1916.  It wasn’t until 1955 when a decision was finally made to expand the golf course to a full eighteen holes (William F. Gordon and his son David W. Gordon were brought in).  Some of the original Lockwood bunkering was pretty impressive.  We have some great old photos.   Unfortunately there is not too much out there that we could find on Lockwood.  Mike Cirba was actually the man who identified for us the Lockwood heritage at Brookside.  Maybe he has more information on him?

We've done quite a bit of drainage work on the course, some green expansion which has turned out fantastic, and now some bunker work (done in house) which is underway as we speak.
