Great to see the pictures of an old stomping grounds where I used to bowl and play tennis, participate in mass games of ring-ting-aleevio at midnight with my high school buddies and buddettes, caddied, and shot 80 as a 21 year-old non-golfer.
I remember it as a typical posh east coast club course, but not as good as some others I had played by that time.
Yes, some of the bunkers look like most of Merion did in 2001, but as I said then in this forum about them, let's wait and see.
Anybody looking for instant gratification after a golf course restoration/renovation just needs to get older to see how courses can and do evolve.
