GOLF JUNKIE TEST
« on: March 26, 2007, 03:50:58 PM »
It's not even Masters weekend and some of you are already in mid-season form.  Here's the test:

1. What is your location? (for demographics only, Bunky)

2. How many rounds have you posted in 2007?

3. How many rounds did you play with temporary flagsticks?

4. How many rounds did you play in weather with temperatures lower than 45 degrees this year?

5. How many new pieces of golf equipment have you purchased this year?

If you live north of Nashville and your answers total more than than 10, you have a serious problem and should seek some form of rehab.

Terry,

I would add "or less than 5" to your qualification in the last sentence...in which case I have a problem...

It's not even Masters weekend and some of you are already in mid-season form.  Here's the test:

1. What is your location? Newcastle Ireland

2. How many rounds have you posted in 2007? About 10

3. How many rounds did you play with temporary flagsticks? 0

4. How many rounds did you play in weather with temperatures lower than 45 degrees this year? 1

5. How many new pieces of golf equipment have you purchased this year? 1

Total=12

To the best of my recollection, my total is 17+0+8+6=31.

But I live in South Carolina, well south of Nashville so it's OK.

BTW, I did not count rounds that started in the 30's but warmed up into the 50's on the back nine as being under 45 degrees. If 38-40 degrees on the first hole should count then my total is more like 35.

I also didn't count a handful of 9-hole days and I didn't add any extra point for 27-hole rounds. And I didn't count golf shoes or an umbrella as golf equipment purchases. So it could get well up into the 40's if I wanted to anal about it.

1.  Suburban Philadelphia
2.  We can't post scores here until April 1.  Since January 1, I've probably played 15 full or partial rounds.
3. Zero, one of our 2 courses stays open every day of the year conditions permitting.
4. 11:  6 under 40 degrees and 3 under 30 degrees
5. Zero, in fact only 2 new wedges since my Titleists were shot.  I got George Izett wedges (52 and 60) and nothing I've ever hit compare.

 I won't even total it up; I'm a junkie.

What do you think of this? My L3/4 back problem of arthritis has me thinking of starting to play lefthanded.I don't mind having a higher handicap, but I would like to have more predictability in my game. Only a true junkie would look for a way to keep the rounds up!

About 80 rounds so far, ususally miss Tuesdays

Bought an entire new set of custom clubs, 1st time I ever did that.

I never play in the cold or rain, but extreme wind doesn't bother me, over 100 degrees is also a pass for me.

Will play in hurricanes up to 50 mph if the course is open.

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

1. What is your location? San Francisco, CA

2. How many rounds have you posted in 2007? 2

3. How many rounds did you play with temporary flagsticks? 0.  It's California.

4. How many rounds did you play in weather with temperatures lower than 45 degrees this year?  0.  See question 3.

5. How many new pieces of golf equipment have you purchased this year?  0

Score = 2.  I failed.
Yet, I think I should pass since i've looked at every website I could find, of every golf club/course in Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, and France.  If that doesn't qualify me as a junkie... I need a new "drug".

Terry there are two things about golf I don't want to know.
1.  How many times have I played.
2.  How much have I spent on golf.
Just give me an incomplete because I will drop this class.

1. What is your location? (for demographics only, Bunky)
The Frozen Tundra, near Lambeau Field...

2. How many rounds have you posted in 2007?
5, on the first 4 days of January, during the unprecidented warm spell, thanks to one course here that will open anytime you can see turf... then finally yesterday.  (have hit several buckets from heated stall -into the snow, however...

3. How many rounds did you play with temporary flagsticks?
None, because they cut one set of cups, then when it freezes, you keep using it, until most rabbit holes are more tidy.

4. How many rounds did you play in weather with temperatures lower than 45 degrees this year? (since this time 2006)
~10

5. How many new pieces of golf equipment have you purchased this year?
0, so far...

No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

1. What is your location? (for demographics only, Bunky)
Georgia, north end of Atlanta metro

2. How many rounds have you posted in 2007?
27 (Yeah, that's right; 27!)

3. How many rounds did you play with temporary flagsticks?
zero, and I've already played a half dozen in shorts!

4. How many rounds did you play in weather with temperatures lower than 45 degrees this year?
4 or 5, tops...

5. How many new pieces of golf equipment have you purchased this year?
2, but with Xmas money

If you live north of Nashville and your answers total more than than 10, you have a serious problem and should seek some form of rehab.

Total of over 30!  Feelin' good!

1. Hopkins, Minnesota (foolishly north of Nashville).
2. Zero.
3. Zero.
4. Zero (so far; ask again in December).
5. Zero.

Which just proves that your scale is out of whack.

4.  8 rounds
5.  0
